NEW MOONS POSTER (1)

New Moons Presents The Manatees, July 17th, Old Blue Last

New Moons Presents:
South Coast indie-pop band The Manatees juxtapose typical pop song structures with melodic guitar riffs, afrobeat drum patterns and nuanced bass lines. A tangible buzz surrounds the band following the word-of-mouth success of their youthfully nostalgic early EP releases ‘Avoiding Glances’ and ‘Young Hearts’, with fans resonating to their compelling lyrical reflections of teenage adolescence and young love. This has led to being playlisted on Radio X and plays on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6 Music show, sold out shows at the iconic Joiners and Heartbreakers venue in Southampton and being added to Spotify’s ‘Hot New Bands’ (the band have over 250k steams on Spotify alone).

A cross between a manly woodcutter and a pretentious art school, fitting since the band are fresh out of University. They play loud guitar based indie/pop music with choruses so catchy they haunt you while you sleep. In February 2017, FOXE released their double single “Bubblegum.”

Made up of biological bros Tim (guitars, vox) and Lewis Lloyd-Kinnings (bass, vox), plus spiritual bro Cameron Gipp (guitars, vox), Johnny Kills specialise in writing garage-surf songs about being in your early 20s and clueless. Fuzzy and anxious tunes, for fuzzy and anxious times.’

Having had a successful career as a songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, writing songs that have charted in UK, USA, Denmark, Germany and Brazil, as well as receiving worldwide airplay, Paul has now turned his hand to writing and performing his own songs that are rooted in rock, pop, folk and blues.
Using his innate understanding of arrangement and song structure, Paul creates anthemic chorus lines reminiscent of classic 1970s pop music. With his voice taking centre stage alongside his Martin D18 acoustic guitar, Paul has crafted a purposefully stripped back sound without the help of autotune or click tracks on his new recordings that will be released via Killing Moon.
