Track of the Week: AODHAN – Empty Spaces

Dream-pop artist AODHAN – aka Aidan Whitehall – has now shared the video for his infectiously uplifting new single “Empty Spaces”, out now via AntiFragile Music.

Oozing with sun-soaked hooks, sparkling synths and shimmering harmonies, AODHAN once again creates a sound that will transport you straight into the sunshine. It was co-produced by Ryan Miller before it was sent off to Josh Ager (BeabadoobeeSam FenderHolly Humberstone) in the UK for mixing, then back to Paul Blakey for mastering. “Empty Spaces” brings a mellow indie melody, with a calming demeanour, that resonates and touches on introspective thoughts around relationships.

Talking about the single, Aidan explains, “Empty Spaces is a song written about my first big break up. This topic is pretty new territory for me songwriting wise, so it was an interesting experience trying gather all of the feelings I had at the time and turn it into this cheesy, moody yet fun indie pop track.”

Aidan is an eighteen year old Dhawaral songwriter from Wollongong, Australia who is already taking the world by storm. His previous releases caught the attention of Communion Publishing UK, which saw him signing a deal where he joins a roster that includes the likes of Bear’s Den and Catfish and the Bottlemen. His 2019 single Butterflies has gained over three million streams across DSPs and Apple Music also featured him as the Up Next artist, including a full banner and platform-wide campaign.

“Empty Spaces” is out now across all major streaming platforms.
