Introducing: Jay Blanes – Magic

Jay Blanes is a self-releasing 24-year-old singer-songwriter and producer from London. Born near Barcelona, he infuses his passion for indie, pop and disco with his Latin roots. Jay has been performing for live audiences since age 7, in cities such as London, Paris, Los Angeles or Barcelona. In fact, his free spirit inspired him to busk on the Santa Monica Pier and in Trafalgar Square for a year. He also mixes and masters the songs from his living room and shoots his own music videos. Jay has been praised by Vents Magazine, Music-News, Notion, Music Crowns, Opera News, the Yorkshire Times, among others.

Using Jay’s words: “This EP is the culmination of a self-discovery journey that started over a year ago after I developed an anxiety syndrome. It touches on romantic, careless, complicated and self-love. Life is about evolution and growth, which can be identified in how the production evolves for the focus track, Magic.”

Magic, the song, talks about some of the causes of Jay’s anxiety, symptoms, and key learnings on how to cope with it. Even though the topic is heavy, the track does not fall short of catchy melodies, fun arrangements, and an uplifting mood.

The EP saw three of its tracks made available as singles in the months leading up to its release. In just a few weeks, they gathered hundreds of airplays on Amazing Radio, dozens of pieces on media outlets and tens of thousands of streams on music services.
