Introducing…. Hunter James and The Titanic
Denver, Colorado based outfit Hunter James and The Titanic specialise in creating Folk, Americana and Rock n’ Roll straight from the heart. Led by lead vocalist, songwriter and guitarist Hunter James, the group formed in 2018 and are back with their sophomore album La Liberte
Hunter James’ song writing journey started when he was aged 14 and on vacation in Sante Fe, New Mexico. wrote a Beatles-esque style track, and showed his high-school band. “They said ‘That’s great, is that an old Beatles song or something?’ I said, ‘I wrote it this past weekend on vacation.’ It was big moment, that I could write something someone else might pass off as an early Beatles song,” Hunter shares.
Consisting of sometimes as many as nine members, you’ll find the band reflecting on the memory of young love lost with a crying hope for redemption. Summarising the album Hunter James shares, “La Liberte is about finding joy and meaning amongst the trudge of everyday existence”.
Working closely with Austin, TX mixing engineer Danny Resisch, (White Denim, Father John Misty, Molly Burch, Shearwater, Other Lives) Hunter James and the Titanic utilize gritty and vintage audio equipment and techniques, smearing the line between modern and classic. Each member of the band brings a unique but compatible flavour to the overall ethos of the sound.
