Introducing… Lazy Queen
Nordic four-piece Lazy Queen are a high-energy punk rock band with infectious hooks, founded by Colombian Norwegian Henrik García Søberg. After establishing a solid fan base in both Oslo and New York the rock outfit have recently released their new EP ‘Get Home or Die Trying’.
The EP describes a journey from rock bottom to redemption, with the lead singer Henrik García Søberg’s battle with addiction and identity, and how it affected the people around them. Described as being about ‘regret-filled nights that blur into one, pondering how to digest the painful memories created after nightfall’ the EP is a perfect balance of vulnerability with anger and hurt, alternating between thrashing guitars and soft lyrics.
Speaking on the EP García Søberg says:
“‘Get Home or Die Trying’ is about a group of people trying to figure out what happens after it was all supposed to end”
Since starting to record and release their own music, Lazy Queen have received significant praise in media outlets like Wonderland Magazine, NYLON, Red Bull Music, Earmilk, Indietronica (Hype Machine), Louder Than War, Impose Magazine and Medium and their releases have also been featured in Apple Music’s New Music Daily’ playlist alongside global support from Tidal and Spotify including New Music Friday.
