TOTD: ‘KAFFI HJÁ SALÓME’ Ásta

Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásta has followed up her 2019 critically acclaimed album ‘Sykurbað’ with her new single KAFFI HJÁ SALÓME in a split-release via Icelandic indie labels Hrauntkot & Paradís Sessions.

Based in Reykjaví, Ásta is keen to begin a new chapter with her music and set a new tone. Her previous album documented the hurt caused by a past, emotionally abusive relationship, however, is now beginning to share new stories.

Sykurba was nominated ‘Folk Album of the Year’ at the Icelandic Music Awards 2019 and Ásta was also nominated for Female Artist of the year. Ásta has since gone on to perform at Iceland Airwaves, who chose her as one of their ‘Best New Artists’.

Kaffi hjá Salóme has been released digitally via Paradís Sessions, as well as physically, with a limited vinyl pressing from Hraunkot.
