TOTD: Bad Pop – Slow Riser

Bold, anarchic and brimmed with attitude, fuzz-pop punk inspired Bad Pop are back hinting at their upcoming album release this March after being on a hiatus for the last 3 years.

Kicking off with roaring riffs and pounding drums, ‘Slow Riser’ is certainly a potent entrance back to the dynamic worlds of rock and punk pop. In true Bad Pop fashion, the track takes you on a turbulent journey of chaos and peculiar restraint taking the baton from the likes of alternative rock icons The Pixies and passing it with a nod towards the shoegaze and pop-punk subgenres.

‘Slow Riser’ is just the beginning of the next chapter for this tongue-in-cheek trio and if we’ve learned anything so far, it’s that they can’t keep away from the intrigue of “bad pop” after all (even off the back of a global pandemic).
