PREMIERE: AN EXCLUSIVE LISTEN TO RUBEN DAWNSON FOLLOW ME HOME
Ruben Dawnson is back after the release of his debut EP! His new single ‘Follow Me Home’ is a Goodbye to Summer anthem helping you escape from the stresses and anxieties of life.
Self produced, the track’s sonics are filled with ambient chord progessions, delicate vocal melodies & feautres his signature anxiety-battling melancholic indie-pop that will remind you of artist like Clairo, Jeremy Zucker & Bakar.
Here is what Dawnson had to say about his new single.
“Mid quarantine, I found myself in a yellow house just outside of Oslo, distressed. As I often do when my anxiety levels are high, I picked up my guitar. Playing the chords while looking out the window I quickly felt a peaceful, yet melancholic rush through my body and mind. Struck by inspiration, I recorded it that same evening. I want it to stay as organic and true as it felt that day, so I haven’t touched it since. It captures the feeling of losing oneself and reaching out for the salvation.”
His debut EP Echo Emotions, including the timely single ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone’, was well-received by the global music community, garnering support from publications such as Hillydilly, Dummy, Earmilk, Clash Magazine and many more. Keep your eyes on Ruben Dawnson as he is on the rise
