NEWS: Mina Rose & Chapter and Verse Join Killing Moon Management

Killing Moon Management welcomes Essex rock quintet Chapter and Verse and South London singer-songwriter Mina Rose to its roster

Killing Moon Management are absolutely delighted to welcome two acts to the fold, Essex based rock band Chapter and Verse, and South London songstress Mina Rose. Killing Moon director Achal Dhillon had this to say about the new signings.

“Some guy once said “to improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often”. Now, Killing Moon isn’t perfect (neither was the guy who allegedly said that) but we sure as shit have evolved from the one-dude operation back in 2012 when our first management client Draper beamed into my world and changed my life forever. However, our mission and ethos has never changed, which is to identify and attract the very best in emerging talent around the world, make everyone else see what we see in them, and lets not be pricks and/or bankrupt anyone in the process. Mina and Chapter & Verse occupy two very different musical lanes, and yet share this sentiment in common with us. I am delighted to welcome them to the family and looking forward to fighting musical crime and kicking industry ass, with some release news coming up for them both very soon indeed.”

CHAPTER AND VERSE

Having just returned from their hugely successful debut UK headline tour, the world is only just beginning to understand what it means to be a part of Chapter and Verse’s ‘New Breed’.

With this swiftly growing community and a shared attitude that looks beyond the music their second EP release has seen the London quintet quickly rise to the forefront of the underground alt-rock scene, garner attention from Metallica’s Lars Ulrich, smash the main stage at 2000 Trees, hit the road with a host of international touring bands (Emarosa, Hellions and Courage My Love to name a few) and have all 3 singles championed by Radio 1.

Frontman Josh Carter gave a few words on joining forces with Killing Moon Management, “We’re very excited that Killing Moon, a company that we all admire, is now officially a part of the driving force behind The New Breed.”

Chapter and Verse head out on a Scottish headline tour at the end of June and are main support to Press To Meco on a full UK run in October.

MINA ROSE

Mina Rose grew up in Brockley, South East London and was exposed to many musical and cultural influences, her father and uncle produced House Music as 100 Hz, and her step-dad played in a Ska band. On her Mother’s side she is related to Urania Boswell known as Queen of the Kent Gypsies, and from her Father’s side she received Jamacian influences. As a child she learnt to play guitar and drums, and at 13 was able to secure a place at the well-known Brit School in Croydon.

Things started to take off when a track she uploaded to SoundCloud had over 100k hits. From this, interest grew in Mina and she subsequently released 2 EPs, ‘Issue 25’ and ‘London’s Burning’, and numerous videos (including the self-directed ‘Ghost Rider’). She’s been involved with product launches for House of Vans, ASOS and Dr Martens, and appeared in a video for fashion house Balmain. Her tracks have been played on BBC radio by Jamz Supernova and ToddlaT, and a number of radio stations including Rinse FM and Represent Radio.

In October Mina was main support for Jorja Smith on a sell-out UK tour during October, performing at 10 shows including the Brixton Academy twice, and Summer Marshall (Sam Smith, Paloma Faith) at CAAhas added Mina to her live roster.

Her latest single RUN was released in January through Warner’s LEVEL label, and she is currently working on new tracks with well-known DJ and Producer ToddlaT.

Killing Moon are extremely excited to be working with Mina, and Mina had this to say about the new relationship, “I’m so excited to start my new chapter and I’m over the moon that it’s with Killing Moon! Ach’s energy and passion has me really looking forward to the future. I’m feeling so inspired and ready for the rest of my journey! Big ups to the whole team!
