PREMIERE: FAUX RELEASE DIRTY POP COVER OF DRAKE HIT ‘GOD’S PLAN’
I had a very weird experience on the tube this morning. I was scratching my head and felt something wet on my hands – had a bird shat on my head? I looked at my hand and realised that blood was dripping from my index finger; I had cut myself without even realising and there was a big streak of blood on the back of my freshly ironed white shirt. The rest of the journey turned into a battle to conceal my finger incase people thought I was a sloppy murderer or just a weirdo who bleeds intermittently without warning. Which, I guess I am when you think about it. I am happy to report that my finger is now fine, and my shirt will surely be okay after a quick cold rinse in the washing machine. What can I say, drama follows me everywhere clearly. Maybe that’s why I like dramatic music so much, which leads me nicely on to today’s Track Of The Day, an exclusive premiere of the new track from Southampton dirty pop band Faux. In their cover of Drake’s hit single ‘God’s Plan’, the four piece take future RnB and inject it with emo tinged pop rock flavour, with soaring vocals in close harmony and intricately finger-picked guitars that give way to thrashing chords and pounding drums. Breakdowns and hard hitting choruses abound, this is an intriguing take on one of the Canadian sad boi’s biggest tracks. Enjoy.
