Little Cub ‘Too Much Love’

In exactly one week, I will be jetting off to (hopefully) sunny Italy for a little trip to see my family over the Easter bank holiday. I can’t wait. Although the whole of Northern Europe has been pretty much obliterated by the beast from the east, I’m still holding out for a little warm weather – I’ll even take a relatively mild 15 degrees at this point. I’ve been given strict instructions to bring with me those little British necessities that you just can’t get over there, namely Yorkshire tea and cheddar cheese, so the clothes in my suitcase are going to smell like…cheesy tea. Anyway, let’s not worry about that, instead let’s all listen to the latest single from South London electric trio Little Cub, called ‘Too Much Love’. Released the day before Valentine’s Day, the track is all about the cynicism of modern romance, set against a backdrop of smooth synth hits and trap inspired percussion. As subdued as the vocals are, lyrics are as sharp as they come (‘I’m sorry, feelings just aren’t my thing’), as the track builds to a digital climax. Catch them at CloseUp Festival 2018 on the 12th May at Hoxton Square Bar and Grill (tickets here) and watch the hard hitting video below:
