NEWS: KILLING MOON AND REVERBNATION ANNOUNCE STAGE AT SXSW 2018
Killing Moon Live and ReverbNation are once again joining forces to bring you the very best in new and breaking UK and US artists at SXSW 2018! If you’ve got a wristband, come down to Seven Grand Austin on Tuesday 13th March from 7pm to catch our stellar line up:
7.45pm LuxDeluxe
A quintet whose members have been playing together about a quarter of their lives, LuxDeluxe steeps their music in classic rock waters and then adds a modern touch to create a near-perfect sound for just about anyone with ears.
8.35pm Allman Brown
Allman Brown is a London-based singer-songwriter influenced by the likes of Bon Iver, James Vincent McMorrow and Sufjan Stevens. Since announcing himself onto the scene in 2013 with the ‘Sons And Daughters’ EP (the lead track of which recently surpassed 3.5 million streams on Spotify), he has built a solid fanbase on both sides of the Atlantic through a number of his songs being featured on notable TV dramas in both the UK and US. His debut album ‘1000 Years’ is available now.
9.30pm ANEMONE
Anemone is the dream/pop, groovy psychedelic rock recording project of Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Chloé Soldevila with boys Miles Dupire-Gagnon, Zach Irving, Gabriel Lambert and Samuel Gemme. With a penchant for melodic classicism, 1960’s pop rock, airy psychedelia and inspired by California’s waves through an open van window, Anemone is an effortless voyage with love.
10:20pm Francobollo
With their origins in Sweden, and now based in London, Francobollo are today introducing themselves with the wonky delights of their new single ‘Kinky Lola’. This new offering from the band has been produced by Charlie Andrew (Alt-J, Money, Benjamin Francis Leftwich etc.) — and will be the first release on Charlie’s new label Square Leg Records.
11:20pm Zuli
Indie rock project Zuli was created by Long Island native Ryan Camenzuli. Influenced by guitar folk, psych-rock, and power pop, Zuli’s sound shares similarities with bands like the Shins, Weezer, and Vampire Weekend. In 2015, Camenzuli issued his debut EP, Supernatural Voodoo. His first full-length followed two years later. On Human Freakout Mountain (Swoon City) was recorded in New York and featured the tracks “blaze” and “follow you.”
12:20am Flyte
‘Echoes’ is a victorious new arrival for Flyte. Claiming new sonic territory with cinematic synth melodies and vivid storytelling, the London four-piece collaborated with Courtney Barnett producer Burke Reid to create a modernist but timeless record. Reveling in coming-of-age nostalgia and grand lyricism, whilst depicting themes of life, love and death, the band says: “We wanted to start with something thoughtful and introspective. Echoes is a turning, twisting melody about trying to hold on to meaning, living in the afterglow of a significant moment in time.”
1.20am Otzeki
Otzeki are two cousins whose mutual appreciation for David Beckham and Ricardo Villalobos led them to make music together. Already likened to Animal Collective, The xx and Local Natives, it’s easy to see why the duo are drawing such esteemed comparisons with subtle but powerful vocals deftly merging with electronic undertones. They are already making a name for themselves with their live sets, having recently supported Real Lies as well as Lust For Youth in London clubs.
Our friends at Metro will also be live streaming select performances on the evening via their socials, so dress real nice.
