Palms and Pelicans ‘Drowzy’
I am so happy it’s Friday. I cannot wait to dive into my bed when I get home and not get out of it until Sunday evening, when I will go and watch the Bonfire night fireworks. Our local firework night is charging an outrageous £10 for the privilege of standing in a cold muddy field, but I would be disappointed if I didn’t do anything for the 5th November, especially as I didn’t celebrate Halloween this year. When we lived in South London, my boyfriend and I used to go to the Blackheath fireworks every year, which was FREE and included a huge fairground – I have a lot of great memories from that time. I hope we can make some more this year in our new home (this week is incidentally the one year anniversary of when we left our shabby little Catford flat). Either way, I’m going to need to catch up on some serious relaxation time before Sunday, including heinous amounts of time spent in bed. In anticipation of this, I’m listening to the aptly named ‘Drowzy‘ from dream pop quartet Palms and Pelicans. Howling guitars are offset by hazy vocals and driving rhythms, reminiscent of quintessential emo bands like Paramore, albeit with an alternative pop twist. Check out the dreamy Game Of Thrones-esque video below:
