Guildford-based singer-songwriter Annabel Allum continues her reinvention as one of the most vital, snarling and sarcastic voices in the indie scene with debut EP All That For WhatExpanding from her folk roots into fuzzier-slacker territory, Allum affirms her statement of intent with blistering riffs, frenetic vocals and culturally relevant themes over 4 concise tracks.

Or, according to Annabel herself: “‘All That For What’ is a collection of conflict. Self reflection and self refraction. It’s a time capsule of a state of mind, and a state of being. Misunderstanding, the journey of understanding, and the delivery of being understood.”

Recent singles Rich Backgrounds and Eat Greens’ took further hold of tastemaker attention, providing a platform from which she delivered several highly acclaimed SXSW sets this March as well as a slot at The Great Escape. Soon after this Annabel earned her first ever spin on Radio 1 via Huw Stephens.

Back in early 2016 the songstress received early support from the online community and airplay on the likes of BBC 6 Music and Radio X with her debut single ‘Tricks’, whilst her original look and self-styling lead to endorsements from Bastian Classics, Cheap Monday and various other indie clothing brands.

Having supported acts including Big Deal and Blaenavon over the past twelve months, and following sets at The Great Escape and Live at Leeds, Annabel’s live reputation continues to grow. She’ll be launching the EP with a free entry release show at the Shacklewell Arms in London on 5th July.
