Hello Ocho

Hello Ocho
“Stickin’ To The Sheets”

It has occured to us over this weekend that we may not have a life. Well, a personal life. A personal life that doesn’t involve or indeed revolve around music, or, as we now like to call it, work. As we draw ever closer to the point of legitimacy, at least in our own minds, of this wonderful enterprise that we made up a little over/under a year-and-a-bit ago, we’re amazed to find that we’ve spent so long using our big mouths to profess what we would do were we placed in charge of certain projects, and now that we kinda are we’re finding ourselves relatively lost for words. We watched an HBO/BBC co-produced film last night on iPlayer (it’s still there, and you should check it out if only for the accents of the main protagonists), in which Bill Clinton tells Tony Blair that he might “freak out” a little bit when he first takes up office as Prime Minister. Now, we’re not Blair (which is nice) or Clinton (wouldn’t mind, maybe for a day or something), but it’s reassuring to learn that most people realise their limits. Anyway, soundtracking our latest moan about nothing in particular this eventful weekend where we’ve spent a bit too much on going out than we really should is fast-rising three-piece Hello Ocho. They are from Atlanta. They sound like a lot of fun; and by that, we mean we reckon they sound a bit like The Get Up Kids doing The Walkmen, or We Are Scientists doing Interpol. That’s quite some doing; such is the contrast between their ability to pen incisive and challenging lyrics insofar as their contemporaries are concerned, whilst leaving the impression that they are having a thudding good time in doing so. Also, one of the guys is called Clinton. Hectic. Even better news is that you can download their recently-released single, which just so happens to be our Track Of The Day, for absolute nowt via their Bandcamp. Righteous.
