“Spirit The Ghost”
The last thing anybody wants to see when returning from a 48+ hour bender in and around Brighton – and, let’s face it, at that sort of point, it really isn’t going to take very much in order for the proverbial/literal shit to get real – is a warm plate of rancid Chinese pork belly that has evolved into some kind of green monster. However, the first thing most people, we would surmise, would want to hear is something equally uplifting as this powerful soundbyte named Spirit The Ghost by some lads from down under called Undercolours. Setting aside personal affections on the basis that the band played and probably still own several classic video game titles on the Nintendo 64, several nostagic nerves of our own self-induced and parentally-bestowed musical upbringing are being hit upon pressing play, along the lines of Springsteen, Dire Straits, The Police (although admittedly we were more Sting people), and perhaps Foo Fighters for a more recent frame of reference. Having just listened to this through on repeat for 5 consective times, we can honestly say we’re feeling much better now.
