Monarchy: Debut London Show

There’s a tin labelled “Monarchy“. This is what it says and does:

Reckon that light rigging and glitzy stage production looks pricey? Well, it is. It also resulted in the band being dropped from Mercury Records, on the basis that they spent their entire tour support and marketing budget on these stage props. And a trip to Cape Kennedy, where they were certified as the undisputed world’s first band to be “beamed” into space. Which basically means they filmed a show performed in front of a lot of flattered journalists, and directed the resulting TV signal into space. Unfortunately, there’s (A) not a lot of people in space, and (B) not many of those not many people have a telly.
