TOTD: ‘Coronavirus’- QuinceLu
Clever wordplay and ambiguity were clearly at the forefront of Columbian artist, QuinceLu’s mind when writing his latest single ‘Coronavirus’. With some considering him as rap’s most promising new prospects, QuinceLu is simmering with suspicion as he digs for answers in the track. Using the dreaded COVID-19 as a metaphor for an unhealthy relationship or dangerous situation, the comparison can’t be denied as anything other than relevant to the year we have all just had.
The thumping bass beat is wrapped in broody riffs and slick synth chords, as QuinceLu’simpeccable flow commands attention. Describing the track in further detail, he states “The idea of the song came from the Covid-19 pandemic. I put a spin to the term in relation to a person, event, or situation that is toxic and must be avoided”.
After moving to South Florida at the age of five, QuinceLu adopts his style from both the USA and his cultural heritage, hence the cool, refreshing ‘Bendito’ sound that has been causing a stir on the scene as of late..
With further releases hinted for later this year, QuinceLu is ready to take over the world.
