INTERVIEW: PARA FICTION

Following their critically acclaimed release of ‘Wavey Days’ last month, rapper Jambo Unchained and Master Fado, together known as Para Fiction, burst back on the scene with their new video for ‘Age Of The Imbecile’

With critical acclaim coming from both sides of the Atlantic with the likes of EARMILK, CLASH MAGAZINE and OK-THO all quick to proclaim their unique amalgamation of Beastie Boys and Slaves styles, the Brighton duo are making serious heat for themselves.

What does a typical week look like for you guys?

A simple life of Debauchery, vegetating at our mates houses, tryna write the next “WYS X”, lurking outside pubs and the occasional gig.

What’s your earliest musical memory?

‘I was born with my fingers in a G chord and a mic in hand

Do you have any pre-show rituals before you go on stage? If so what are they?

Pre-gig trip to aldi for the ultimate bargain of 4 Galahads for  £2.15, on the quest to get sponsored by Aldi.

Where does the idea for the act name come from?

The name was originally Parasite Fiction commenting on humanities  parasitic tendencies,

then shorted it to Para fiction cos it was more catchy, which means half way between reality and fiction, which is where our universe we’re creating sits.

‘Age of the Imbecile’s lyrics are rooted in distaste for modern social media and technology, have you ever found yourself falling into the hole of striving for online perfection?

Yes like many of the population are forever searching for the perfect meme

I’ve heard you’re releasing an EP next year, how’s it coming on?

E.P is fully recorded were working on more tracks for the the next year 2019 is looking busy

Are there any bands/artists that you’re listening to that your fans wouldn’t expect?

‘We’ve been listening to Enjoy’s Small car Big Wheels a lot recently and Denzel Curry’s TA13OO’
