Melby ‘Reject’

Working in a shared office is fun. Working in a shared office is also really loud. With multiple companies, each one having conversations, lively discussions, playing music, and ringing telephones, the noise can build up quite quickly, which mean I sometimes long for one of those dystopian cubicle office setups. I definitely value my own space, and the idea of literally being boxed in away from the rest of the world is immensely appealing on days like today when I just want to sit quietly and get through my work. I could also decorate my cubicle really nicely. Then again, I don’t find myself wishing for it for long, as there is a lot of fun to be had in a shared office (especially if one of your colleagues is a rather lovely dog). In any case, I’m looking forward to a quiet, relaxing weekend, and in anticipation, I’m listening to the chilled out sounds of Stockholm band Melby, with their new song ‘Reject’. Jangly guitars and mile-a-minute jazz inspired drums provide the backdrop for lead singer Matilda Wiezell’s sensitive vocal as she soars above the psychedelia-tinged mix. Enjoy.
