DRAPER RELEASES ‘LUMINOUS’ EP VIA M:UK
‘Luminous’ is the brilliant new EP from rising star Draper released today via M:UK
It features six stand out tracks, ‘Want You More’, ‘Jealous’, ‘I.O.U’, ‘Reaction’, ‘Heartbeat Close’ and ’Who Are You’ that are not only musically adept but also showcase Draper’s talent for sourcing seriously gifted vocalists.
‘Jealous’ is the second single to be taken from the EP. It features the hotly tipped singer BB Diamond who honed her craft as a backing singer for the likes of Katy B, Ella Henderson and Jess Glynne. It’s a big, beautiful slice of pop tinged electronica offset by BB ‘s super soulful vocals.
Draper commented “Working with BB Diamond on this one was a lot of fun, BB nailed the vocals which really helped sculpt the production. It’s quite clear what ‘Jealous’ is about. Any relationship where jealousy is involved can be very hard. Honesty is key and not trusting a person can lead to anger and frustration. This is one of my favourite tracks to play live right now, the chorus always gets the crowd going and it sounds huge playing with my live band. “

MANTRA RELEASE ‘I WANT’ EP VIA DINE ALONE RECORDS
West London 3 piece MÅNTRA today release of their much anticipated debut EP, ‘I Want’, through Dine Alone Records (Alexisonfire, Fidlar, Jimmy Eat World, At The Drive In), premiered via Upset Magazine. They will also be playing live supporting Arcane Roots on Feb 3rd at Bush Hall, with more dates TBA in the coming weeks.
Front man and guitarist Simon Stark explains a bit more about the bands debut EP ‘I Want’:
“We did the EP with Tom Dalgety in two separate stints over 2013 and 2014 – we had heard the stuff he had done with other bands like Dinosaur Pile Up and Royal Blood who we’re big fans of, and he’s just a swell guy that seemed to get what we are about. The songs that we ended up doing were reflective about how I felt about the world at the time. ‘Power Struggle’ is about the government budget cuts, (the right wing cuts to public services came to my local hospital, so I felt an obligation to say something about how easy it is to lose the basics if you’re not paying attention),for example, and ‘I Want’ is mainly focused on consumerism, questioning religious theocracy and social anxiety but the thread that ties them all together is the ever increasing self-centred nature of people.”
