“Life Is But A Dream”
S’up. Sorry we didn’t get around to talking to y’all on this thing last Friday. We were heard to use the word “drowning” in regards to our level of inbox sustainability on the day itself, and other forms of instantaneous communication didn’t really help us much. At one point, in fact, we provided a source of much humour in our immediate/office surroundings by conducting a 10 minute monologue of hard selling to an international record label of note in regards to an ongoing negotiation whereby we didn’t seem to realise that the phone had cut out for that amount of time. The funnier fact is that we can talk to ourselves and indeed on our own for way longer than that, should we deem it necessary. Anyway, how was your weekend? Ours was great ta. We actually managed to relax at several instances. Highlights include stomping around Victoria Park with several snappy (they had cameras) women in our entourage whilst getting buzzy off a blue Slush-Puppy, and of course watching Star Trek/managing to get the girlfriend into it all. Or, at least, she didn’t hate it. That kinda counts. Stranger Things on Netflix seems to have provided a bit more of a common ground in the critical sense. The inadvertent referencing to how most of our weekend was largely spent with members of the opposite sex lead us nicely onto talking about Portland people Genders, who we are sorry to say we have taken our sweet time picking up on owing to the aforementioned email/everything else backlog. Also it is pretty great to get into them now. The soothing vocals atop a clear indie-application musical backdrop boasting of dream-ridden guitars and other echoey stuff may well be the key to perpetuating the first bit of calm that we’ve enforced upon ourselves in the last month or so. We can also see a great deal of our more-on-it-than-us peers getting behind this as well, given this super sonic concoction combined of musical contemporaries such as The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Dum Dum Girls and Wild Nothing. Dems good.
