“Rainy Day Lover”

Anyone else feel like a fried fucking egg today? Yeah, that’s right, we’re talking about the weather. Hot. That’s what it is. If you hadn’t noticed. We’ll say no more on the matter, other than perhaps opting for a leather desk chair may have seemed like a bright idea at the time but now we’re really not enjoying having to peel our sweaty ass (and it IS a sweaty ass right now) off the aforementioned every time we need to go to the loo or something. But also we’ll say no more because we (a) have a meeting starting in about 10 minutes, (b) wasted a significant amount of time today as it is whining about the delicacies of compilation based licensing and/or marketing (yep, we’re a delight at the dinner table kids, and the sort of riveting chat you can expect from us therein) to literally anyone who would care to listen (there are not many of these people today), and (c) we’ve got to bust a fucking move otherwise we’ll miss one of several of our own prides and/or joys, namely CHIMES, who have just sold out The Old Blue Last for their debut single launch. Thank goodness that people are soliciting demos to us, because we are seriously running out of time to source that shit right this minute. So, who have we got? Well, ruddy Mark Wilkins of course. He was wondering if we took submissions from “all artists”. We suppose we do. We’re taking it right now. We’re taking it all the fucking time, Mark. And we’re glad to do it, because your shit is good, as evidenced by brand new effort Rainy Day Lover (everyone loves a contrast with the weather, and this one is like some kinda flipped-reversed pathetic fallacy) and so here we are. Other than what our guy Mark has already accurately determined via his email – that he sounds a bit like Ryan Adams, but also we think a hell of a lot like Band Of Horses and Neil Finn (or possibly the Finn Brothers, depending on what era you’re yapping on about) as well as being based in London – we know fuck-all about this guy. The beauty of music discovery right there for you folks.
