“Hand To Mouth”

FEHM

The clouds doth returneth to bugger up our weekend. Bloody typical. We had plans, dudes. Plans to further our quest to get buff in time for Primavera (everyone knows that they have a rule at Primavera to not let in people who are not buff). It’s not that we are fat. Far from it. Our Body Mass Index to well towards the lower end of the apparently-normal end of the scale. However, we are becoming devoid of tone; a bodily apparition that is particularly rife within the 25-35 age bracket of male semi-music professionals to our knowledge which we would generously describe as 90’s pop punk swimmer chic (see specimens on both left and right here for further information). Now that a seemingly large chunk of our alternative/hipster music-loving friendship group are now coming along for the proverbial ride, and all they seem to do is stand around looking well fit, you can see why all of a sudden we actually have a reason to do some meaningful exercise. Anyway, the point of all this blathering was that we had a planned a long-ass walk tomorrow, and if the clouds and/or their rainy quarry fuck up our plans then we’ll be pissed. Dunno, we might write another blog about it or something. Anyway, let us turn our attention to new Track Of The Day people FEHM who are soundtracking our overcast moodiness this otherwise quite-nice Friday afternoon. They are from Leeds. There appear to be four of them. They like playing pitch-shifty loud-ass post-punk which fans of our namesake could really invest into. A quick google has unveiled big-ups and props from online big boys Clash and Line Of Best Fit, as well as some live action coming up in the form of an EP (presumably from which Hand To Mouth is taken) launch this Sunday at The Waiting Rooms in London, as well as a Live At Leeds slot. Stuff, etc. Get a glimpse of their shoegaze-inducing stuff in form of the new video below; the opening bars and that bass/guitar melody remind us heavily of Berlin‘s Metro, but we’re also gonna chuck in Joy Division and Bristolian contemporaries Idles in by way of further references. Maybe do 40 sit-ups while you’re at it.
