Yesterday was all about confessions, McDonalds, searching for dinousaurs and navigating mazes that you have already navigated. And cyclists. Bet you guys had a bloody blast yesterday huh? We’re not mad at you. We’re mad at the multitude of (we’re assuming) Mayor Of London staff that exacted a blockade of most if not all access points that would otherwise/normally allow us to cross the River Thames with some degree of certainty that we would reach the otherside, who in turn (there were around 15 or so turns) gave us completely contradictory instructions on how to achieve this goal. Shit, at one point we even tried bribing them for information. Or to turn a blind eye to allow us to return on the exact route that we admittedly-stupidly tried to escape the Sunday trap that became West London yesterday morning and afternoon – which to be fair was via same route that we entered said-trap, but the clever girls closed this off after we had entered. It was seriously not cool. Anyway, we got to hang out with an old friend for a bit at least, and to an extent we spent some time listening to them about life in general rather than bleating on about us (of course, the remainder of the time together was spent doing just that). This served as another reminder to ourselves, and
possibly hopefully to the person in question, that although life may not give a solitary fuck about your plans and some shit only serves to drag one down (that’s where shit ultimately ends up, you see. Down. Gravity, etc), there will always be something to make one smile. Often when one least expects it. It was a great day, and possibly the exact amount of mental preparation needed to tackle one of our busiest weeks yet. Got a rather splendid release announcement coming up tomorrow-ish that we’ve spent some time working on. We do hope you all like it. It was real fun to put together. What’s also several different shades of fun to invest into is this orchestrally-governed poppy Track Of The Day called Relapse. It is by a band called Human Pyramids. Actually, calling these guys a band is probably an understatement in terms of selecting an appropriate collective noun. We’re going to call them a school. A school of musicians. We can’t say a choir, for that is just one of the various musical assets inclusive within this hefty ensemble. Like, Slipknot might have an actual fight on their hands were they ever to encounter these guys, which seems rather unlikely given that these guys/gals sound very little like them. We’re slightly put out to learn that Human Pyramids played Great Escape but we were too embroilled in our own live affairs as well as several other bits/people that really don’t matter all that much in retrospect to notice. Damn us. Damn us to heck. Based on what we’ve seen – pictorial representations of this school of musicians performing in wonderfully cathedral-esque settings, in addition to the video clip below of the track – we would have had a mighty good time in doing so. In terms of composition, we’re drumming up images of Rare Monk jamming out with the fun-glitchiness of And So I Watch You From Afar. It’s good. Engage.
