“Take It Slow”/”Carve It Up”
Let us tell ya – these days are long, but these nights are even longer. We think The Bronx said that. In fact, yes they definitely did because we just checked. We don’t even have time to go out and party hard at the moment. Nor the energy. We could have happily stayed in bed till at least, dunno, midday-ish and still taken those waking hours to wander around and get our bearings. We’re not whining. No, really. We’ve done some seriously useful shit today; starting this morning to have a coffee with Mr. Crack In The Road himself (or Josh, as he probably likes to be called) during which we couldn’t help but feeling we were in conversation with one of the most forward-thinking and pro-active dudes in the game – you may think that’s ass-kissing, we like to call it sincere admiration – and with the rest of the day more or less exclusively geared towards two big-ass announcements we’re due to make from next week onwards. One is about a release, the other is not (sort of). Anyway, given that we’re in this weird lethargically-excited mindset right now, some sweet riffage sure wouldn’t be amiss. Oh, WUT do we have HURRRR? It’s a band called Ghost Foot. They are from a place called Shroveport. That is in the United States of America, but where precisely within that sovereignty we shall never know. Perhaps it is better that we don’t, otherwise we’d spend a good ten minutes or so whittling on about it for no reason in particular. A&R guy Rob sent them over to us being all, like, “oh YEAYUH, those riffs!”. And we kind of agree with him. Take It Slow and Carve It Up, which are being served up as your double-whammy Track Of The Day right now, represent tracks 2 and 5 on Ghost Foot‘s eponymous EP which was released about a week ago or so via their bandcamp. Which is nice. So, how about those riffs? If so dig any of the following, or indeed a combination thereof – Fidlar, The Vines, Husker Dü, The Descendents, and/or The Dillinger Four – and you enjoy the idea of two heavily-tattooed and/or substantially-bearded fellows bounding about with guitars and getting all in your face and shit, then this is probably something you’ll want to get involved in.
