As promised, Ach has kindly
allowed emotionally blackmailed me (I’m A&R Clark, by the way. How you doing?) into writing up a post on my favorite new London based duo Fé, the name portending to and taken from Leo Duncan’s (one half of Fé) grandmother who, if the music is anything to go by must be a great woman. Both Leo Duncan and Ben Moorehouse (the other half of Fé) have merged together leaving behind their respective past projects Golden Silvers and Real Fur – two brilliant bands I might add – to form this promising new relationship. The boys are set to play their first show on 11/09/13 at The Old Blue Last with the track Time to follow as a single on the 25th of that month via Bad Life. Time feels like an instant classic with stunning depth, space and spot on vocal harmonies. With its eighties influence the track is reminiscent of the superb but relatively unknown Eleven Pond and other outstanding bands of the era are given citation in the form of production by Luke Smith (Depeche Mode). Similarities and comparisons aside the band have developed a unique sound that whilst being current and edgy retains a pop sensibility that can surely only equal success that will extend far and beyond the parameters of east London.
