It’s no secret that we absolutely bloody love whining. In fact, we’re pretty sure we built a career off the back of our favourite hobby. Well, guess what we’re going to do right now? Today can actually go fuck itself right up it’s own farty butthole. We’d pay real money to ensure that it was the weekend still. The problem is people. Not you people – you people are well good. More people that seemingly and/or permanently wanting stuff from us. Don’t get us wrong. We like to help out where we can, usually as a thankless exercise. The problem stems from when you go out of your way do something for someone and then it becomes an expectation that you’ll just do that again and again. As in, if you don’t do it again, for whatever reason, YOU’RE the asshole. It’s like being spanked and going “thank you sir, may I have another?”. Commonly, this is referred to as being someone’s bitch. We gave that up a long time ago, because it really wasn’t working out for us. Add to that layer of annoyingness the seemingly-endless barrage of requests for all kinds of shite ending up in and around our email inbox – send over this, organise that, guestlist this, free shit that, I want I want I want, me me me, now now now – and you can see why we’re wound up right now. Our perforated ear drum is really not helping us right now, either. It’s like a continuous fucking “eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee” going on all the time. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Additional calm is needed. So here’s Real Lies with their current Track Of The Day Deeper. It sounds like being all floaty-light atop an ocean of chill-the-fuck-out. That, or walking into some lazerian-laden fashion-orientated club. Wait, scratch that second bit. We’re trying to calm ourselves down, not fuck ourselves off even further. Anyway, these three are from London, which is nice. Elements of euphoria mixed with cool-as-shit pop stylings leave us thinking of Bikini doing Pet Shop Boys doing Klaxons (in all their lad-gang-vocal glory). Check out their glitzy-as-hell clip that’s been gracing the likes of Quietus and i-D of late, to much aplomb. Also celebrate the fact that this is probably the most personally-sided post in terms of subjective writing we’ve written in a while. Sorry Real Lies. We think you’re great, it’s just that we’re having a terrible time today. Thanks for helping us out.
