Release: Carnival Kids Announce Single Via Killing Moon

Fear Of Nothing video still

It’s no big secret. Here at Killing Moon, we like-a the rock music. It is not an uncommon occurrence for various interns/A&Rs/colleagues/members of the general public and their young children in tow as they cruise past our office window to witness us basically BEING in a heavy rock band of some description. This usually involves us flailing (drummer), round-whipping (guitarist), round-whipping at a very low centre of gravity with one foot placed on the couch as if it were a stage monitor (bassist, obviously) or indeed just generally standing with both fists raised far above our skinny fat-man body just mouth-yelling the words to a song, the lyrics of which we don’t actually know, to no one in particular (ass-kicking vocalist). Well, we’ve been fan boys of Norway’s Carnival Kids since the back end of 2012 – who conveniently cover all of the aforementioned roles that we dearly wish to fulfil ourselves, and to an extent of masterly-ness in their individual respects to boot – as soon as manager Mike fired over that fateful private Soundcloud link. And he KNEW we would be balls-deep in love with this. He was not wrong, and since watching them smash up the 100 Club a couple of months back with hardcore big-men Gallows, and our faces getting melted in the process (pretty true, it was rather warm in there), we adore them even more, mainly as they encompass everything we love both sonically and aesthetically about the genre, but also because they’re good chums of ours. FRIENDSHIP. Fear Of Nothing comes out via Killing Moon on Monday 17th June in Norway and Monday 8th July in the UK/rest of the world, and on the latter date they will also play live in London. Now. Hear ye this press release…

[FEAR OF NOTHING RELEASED 17th June 2013 (Norway) & 8th July 2013 (ROTW) + LONDON LIVE DATE ANNOUNCED]

Anglo-Norwegian four-piece Carnival Kids have appeared on the scene rapidly attracting attention and a loyal following through their raw energy live shows and intense yet melodic sound. With a melting pot of influences including Botch, Biffy Clyro and At The Drive-in, the band create a truly compelling and distinctive sound, already drawing comparisons to Billy Talent, Refused, At The Drive-in, and Rise Against.

“I’ve never been as proud of anything in my life,” enthuses Carnival Kids vocalist Eric Molumby on the band’s debut single Fear Of Nothing, and it’s easy to understand why. Complex, visceral and compelling, these tracks strike a perfect balance between depth and accessibility, and mark the Anglo-Norwegian four-piece out as real ones to watch.

Carnival Kids – Fear Of Nothing

With the release of the debut Fear of Nothing set for release on the 17th June in Norway and 8th July in the UK, the band recently wrapped filming a music video for Fear Of Nothing that truly shows who Carnival Kids are and what they are capable of.

The band’s London debut in April had the venue buckling under the pressure of the mosh pit as they supplied main support for Gallows. The gig was one of three Converse curated line-ups that gained heavy praise and saw onlookers understandably drawn in – to see this band live is to become and immediate convert to their musical cause.

With second single What To Do When Awake Within A Dream already planned for a summer release, and a debut album set for completion later in 2013, Carnival Kids are maintaining their course of reputation-building confidence; their sound captivating, their sets electrifying.

Carnival Kids return to London on July 8th to Support Trash Talk at The Underworld in Camden.

Carnival Kids are: Eric Molumby (vocals), Jethro Fox (guitar, vocals), John Stark (bass, vocals), Andreas Westhagen (drums, vocals).
