Stay Bless

We’re completely crushing the bank holiday weekend game kids. We returned to our real-life homesville Ealing for an actual break in what feels like ages – indeed, we seem to have begun generally enjoying breaks when the opportunity arises as a matter of course instead of deliberately trying to burn ourselves out in stark contrast to where we were at round about this time last year – and by good golly gosh we’re rinsing it and enjoying some quality time with our parents and our buddy-men. We’re getting high off some of this Vitamin D action instead of getting smashed off our nut (well, we have a bit, but not to quite the same extent as we maybe have in the past), and to add to that our seemingly-everlasting bout of insomnia seems to have disappeared like a bad fart in the cool spring/summery wind, which has made our whole game-plan of doing as much cool shit during the day a lot more feasible. Jeah. Such fond nostalgia-based experiences couple with this latent effect of a feel-good outlook on what lays ahead (yeah, we’re sort of wondering how long this can possibly last for too) paves the way nicely for Track Of The Day that instills similar sentiments into the head of the listener; and that, dudes, is perfectly summed up in the sonic vibes projected from Always from some other dudes called Stay Bless. They had this spicy twist premiered over at online big-boys Disco Naivete a couple of days in an explosion of near-dreamy euphoric pop glory. We’re not sure we can put the indie spin on this one, but let’s just say it’s really blowing our minds round about now by virtue of just how all-out righteous this feels to us. Try to imagine a cool triple-threat battle royale between The Big Pink, Haim (and therefore inherently Fleetwood Mac – that’s not a bad thing, that’s the fucking truth) and whatever genius composed the intro song Circle Of Life from The Lion King, and this somehow being the end result, and you’ll hear what we’re hearing. Word on the street is this is coming out via an EP release on the 37 Adventures label real soon, so let’s all keep our eyes peeled and our ears clean for that one shall we? YEAYUH.
