E 4 Echo
“Through The Looking Glass”

The fuck’s up with this weather dudes? As a synonym to the latest meteorological oddity to occupy the skies of London leading to the emergence of various brollies as if they had been hibernating for the early summer we were somewhat stupidly expecting to stay forever, as far as our workload is concerned, today generally needs to sort its life out. At the same time, while it is indeed rubbish that we can’t join intern Adam for his birthday bash this evening and/or our buddies over at Fierce Panda‘s 18th birthday party (East London is just a bridge to far for us tonight guys, we’re knackered and, well, doing this sort of shit), we always enjoy the opportunity to sit in our living room, safe in the knowledge that we don’t have to move too much to accomplish our goals (god bless you, internet), looking out into Ealing’s sunny-yet-sundrenched backdrop; and while the literal and metaphorical meaning of current Track Of The Day’ers E 4 Echo‘s recently-surfaced tune Through The Looking Glass is slightly off-base in terms of what we’re banging on about, it will never the less do very nicely. Having just drop the below audio clip into our inbox last night – demo submission gong is in the shop unfortunately, otherwise of course we’d have smacked that by now – the only info we’ve been able to churn out on this lot is that they’ve been a band for the last year or so, and they generally like “having fun and making music they want to”. That music, from where we’re sitting, generally consists of sounds analagous to that of Freelance Whales, Mumford & his Sons, but mixed in with the vocal stylings of the recent crop of indie-pop types like Bastille and David’s Lyre. Which is more than alright by us; what would be even better would be to catch them up in London at some point so, again, we don’t have to move so much in order to get what we want.
