Bloody excited guys. We’re see two, possibly three of our new favourite bands this year all in one evening. We are of course cream-crackered, but the vibe has well and truly kicked in and we’re positively itching to get going and throw down with our rock music buddies who we haven’t actually seen for a spell – because, as you all know, we’re kinda a big deal now and don’t have so much time as might have had before to just, y’know, stand around talking to our many fans. Seriously, we haven’t even got round to getting that haircut yet. We really should have booked ourselves a bit more time off, as despite how we seem to thrive under a ridiculous amount of work-related pressure (jeah), mainly as we find ourselves longing to head on back to The Lakes with our most-special ladyfriend. North American types Vacationer seem to get what we’re on about, with the very first introductory line on their Facebook profile stating rather succinctly “most people do not take vacations often enough, some not at all”. Nice. Moving swiftly on to our subject matter for the Track of Today, embodied in a rather apt way by the above visual image, Gone is exemplary of just how mature the degree of this outfit’s songwriting is; certainly on a par with the likes of Washed Out, Neon Indian and chillmasters Bedouin Soundclash with perhaps a bit of Postal Service-style Mario Land bleepy bits, and thus far this has earned them a healthy online following aided in no small part by some most-triumphant appearances at CMJ earlier this year, as well as a super remix of Jesus by party-men DOM which we’ve just gone ahead and included below. Being resident of the Eastern Seaboard themselves, we haven’t the foggiest as to when we might expect a UK landing for these dudes. However, given the degree of their contemporaries, we’d hazard a guess that this won’t be too long at all.
