Parties
“Black Budgets”

Nothing is ever simple in blog-world. From the complexities of balancing one’s own personal life with how one interfaces with the world at large (and yes, we admit it, we got a little bit emo back there) to the endless running around like a massive prick that we usually undertake in our day-to-day; many may be suprised at the sheer amount of obstacles that present themselves from leaving the point at which one hears about a new act from one of their peers (the quote “you’re actually an idiot if you don’t check this out” was both uttered and insinuated) to actually getting round to listening, evaluating then critiquing it for you, our adoring public. For example, you might get hungry, go to the fridge, stare at the fridge for a bit, only to return having completely forgotten what you were doing before and why you have somehow returned empty-handed from the fridge. Excuses and various hurdles aside, here we finally are talking about Parties and one of the latest tunes to emerge from their rather enigmatic camp by the name of Black Budgets. All we know on the good authority that we are given is that they are from London, are gearing up towards playing their very first shows later this month, and have bridged indie and pop stylings to forge something that very much sounds like The Libertines getting fucked up and eating fried chicken afterwards with The Happy Mondays whilst Interpol bound about like muppet-children in the background on their big happy holiday on a tropical island somewhere. Have a listen; we’re off to the fridge to stare at the broccoli for a bit.
