FAMY
“Arjun”

We’re family people here at Killing Moon. That is to say, we have a family. Specifically, we have loving parents and siblings. One of those siblings happens to be called Arjun. So imagine the proportions and scale to which our dirty little minds were rocketed and blown into orbit when we first heard about enigmatic palm tree-loving outfit FAMY (or even Family, as we’ve witnessed several Facebook fanatics and gig posters refer to them as. Abrupt name-change due to inherent ungoogle-ability? Law suit? Family haters? We simply don’t know) who had a sweet-ass ukelele-led ditty that had the same namesake as our own flesh and blood. As we may well have indicated already, and as per usual, we know little-to-nothing about these chaps, other than their sound resonating that of recent emerging artists such as Oberhofer, Gross Magic and Oxford arty-poppy types Fixers, the latter of which our subjects have recently shared a stage with at everybody’s-favourite-Dalston-dive-of-the-moment-thanks-to-some-excellent-gig-programming The Shacklewell Arms. A brief reckie of their bandcamp page reveals that they have divided existing recordings into three 2-to-3 track releases; Family I, Family II, and the cleverly-named Family III. Looking ahead, these chaps touch down in London once more on 1st September – which is really fucking soon – for a free show at Lime Wharf, Vyner Street. If anyone works out where that actually is, please let us know as we’re rather keen to attend. We’ll bring our big brother along with us so you can all meet the original Arjun.
