Lonsdale Boys Club
“Light Me Up”
Sitting here writing this piece on the night before we set off to Brighton for the might Great Escape is a bit like revising for an exam on Christmas eve. Also, it has only just dawned on us that we’re going to have to find something else to talk about, due to the high frequency of mentions which we have provided said festival with in precluding and concluding parts of previous posts. You gotta feed the monkey though, right? Our pre-party mindset, although unquenchable at the moment and not at all put off by the recent news that we have to take our parents to Heathrow Terminal 5 at 6am tomorrow morning (they’re going to Pisa), is currently being nicely serviced by the steadily-rising Lonsdale Boys Club. Initially we were very much under the impression this meant the band hailed from Lonsdale Road in Ealing; however, it appears they’ve got [a probably-more-famous] one in the regions of North West London. That’s cool. Regardless, we are very much feeling the dance-indie vibes from these young bloods, and, armed with an arsenal of songs that would give Funeral Party a run for their bucks, we’re sure we’ll be seeing and hearing a lot more from this lot over the course of the summer. They have also re-affirmed our strong belief in the power of the word “j’eah”.
