Well, what a week so far. Things are alright. More than alright actually; there’s a little bit of skip in our step; a bit more “go get ’em” with a bit less “nah, fuck it” in the mornings; an extra centimetre or two in the length of our smiles. But let’s shut the hell up about our reinvigorated sense of wellbeing and motivation, and get down to some musical business. Australia’s World Champion embody the best of the alternative rock around in the early to mid 80’s, viz a viz The Cure, The Smiths, with perhaps a bit of Simple Minds chucked in for good measure along with the lyrical darkness of more-modernists The Orb. The prolific duo, comprised of members Michael Woodmansey and Kristy Wilson, despite being mere seconds old as a band in the larger scheme of things have announced they will be playing Sydney’s Big Day Out – we strongly encourage our Antipodean cousins to get involved and check it out. The rest of the world can listen to newly-posted track Dreams below.
