Red Kyte

Red Kyte
“Sharks”

As we were casually perusing through our pop-punk record collection from the late 90’s/early 00’s (we all have one, after all – and if you say you don’t, you lie real bad) earlier this week, it dawned on us that there is a lack of decent songs by decent bands with decent “WHOOOOAAAAAAAA’s” in them. Not disjointed rhythm-based “WHOOOOAAAAAAAA’s” that you might find in modern British indie music, like say Frankie and The Heartstrings; we’re talking proper Misfits/AFI/The Offspring-style extenuated-taking-up-an-entire-chorus “WHOOOOAAAAAAAA’s”. Thankfully, new tune Sharks from Brighton-via-Oxford’s Red Kyte contains a whopping total of three entire “WHOOOOAAAAAAAA’s” with all the vigour that you’d expect from the best of the newer crop of emo-ish rock types that have emerged out of the UK recently, like say Futures or Francesqa. No tour dates pencilled in as of yet but we’ve heard these boys are preparing to mount a full-on sonic assault soon enough, and we strongly advise you to get involved before they get all big and whatnot.
