“Satan Is A Vampire”
Do you remember a film from the late 90’s starring John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline about how they were running a zoo on behalf of a large Antipodean-American media congolmerate who were soley interested in generating profit rather than….the animals, or some shit like that. Remember that? Well, even if you don’t (shame on you), you’ll be pleased to know that there is a fantastic band with the same namesake, Fierce Creatures, currently throwing some serious shapes on the music industry’s soundboard. The band are a perfect concoction of the raw emotive power of Arcade Fire and Los Campesinos, with the melodic bluesy vocals of The Walkmen and Cold War Kids, and could sit comfortably next to more recent acts Freelance Whales and/or Cults and/or Oberhofer. Just two years young and formed in Fresno, California, right now they’re playing some shows in their native state to warm up for their numerous appearances at (yeah, you guessed it) South By South West. Again, check them out, if you don’t we’ll find you and kill you yaddayaddayadda. Listen to Satan Is A Vampire below.
